This 15-day trip takes you through some of the most interesting parts of Zambia. You will visit national parks, see many animals and birds, enjoy boat cruises, and take part in local village experiences.
The game drives will give you the chance to spot animals and birds in their natural homes.
You will also explore villages to learn about local life and culture, and take boat rides on calm rivers to see more of the wildlife and scenery.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Zambia & Transfer to South Luangwa National Park
You will arrive at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport where your safari guide will meet you. From here, you will drive to South Luangwa National Park in a 4×4 vehicle.
The drive takes about 8 hours and 30 minutes, covering 528 kilometers.
On arrival, you will go to your lodge for lunch. After resting, you will enjoy an evening game drive to see the park’s animals, plants, and birds. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drives in South Luangwa National Park
After breakfast, you will start the morning game drive in the park. You may see buffaloes, rhinos, warthogs, impalas, monkeys, cobras, and many more animals.
You will return to the lodge for lunch, then head out again for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Mountain Biking in Luangwa Hills
After breakfast, enjoy a morning of mountain biking in the Luangwa hills. This activity lets you enjoy the views and spot wildlife. Return to the lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge, enjoying the pool and the scenery. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Tena Tena, Game Drive
After breakfast, you will transfer to the Tena Tena area. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, where you can see many birds and animals, including vultures, bustards, ostriches, cranes, penguins, and more. Lunch, dinner, and overnight at the lodge.
Day 5: Morning, Evening & Night Game Drives
Enjoy an early breakfast before heading out for a game drive. You may spot lions, leopards, genets, servals, cheetahs, hyenas, and snakes.
Return for lunch, rest, then enjoy an evening drive followed by a bush dinner and a night game drive. Return to the lodge by 8:00 PM for overnight.
Day 6: Kawaza Village Visit & Luangwa River Cruise
After breakfast, visit Kawaza Village to meet the Kunda people and learn about their culture. Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, enjoy a river cruise on the Luangwa River to see birds, animals, and plants. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Transfer to Lower Zambezi National Park, Evening Game Drive
After breakfast, you will drive to Lower Zambezi National Park. The journey takes about 6 hours, covering 359 kilometers. On arrival, check in at the lodge and enjoy lunch.
In the evening, go on a game drive to see animals such as nyalas, jackals, foxes, lions, and leopards. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 8: Hike to Chongwe Falls & Picnic
After breakfast, hike to Chongwe Falls. The hike lasts about 6 hours and offers great views and photo opportunities. Enjoy a picnic at the top of the falls.
Spend the afternoon relaxing and return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and rest.
Day 9: Cultural Visit to Goba Villages & Sundowner
After breakfast, visit the Goba villages for a cultural tour. Enjoy music, stories, and arts from the local people. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax.
In the evening, enjoy a sun-downer and dinner at the lodge.
Day 10: Full Day Game Drives
After breakfast, take a full day of game drives. In the morning and afternoon, explore the park in open vehicles and spot wildlife including impalas, springboks, wildebeests, and the Big Five. Lunch, dinner, and overnight at the lodge.
Day 11: Transfer to Livingstone (Victoria Falls), Evening Walk
After breakfast, drive to Livingstone, which takes about 3 hours and 40 minutes covering 490 kilometers. On arrival, check in and enjoy lunch.
In the evening, go for a guided walk to explore the plants and animals near the river. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 12: Helicopter Ride Over Victoria Falls & Boat Cruise
After breakfast, take a helicopter ride to view Victoria Falls from the air. Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Zambezi River to see animals, birds, and plants. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 13: Fishing Trip on the Zambezi River
After breakfast, go fishing on the river. You may catch African catfish, hake, or largemouth bass. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax in the afternoon.
Enjoy the views of the river and a sundowner party. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 14: 4WD Trip & Whitewater Rafting
After breakfast, take a 4WD trip through the forest near the river. You may see baboons, monkeys, and many birds.
Return for lunch and then go for an afternoon whitewater rafting trip on the river. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 15: Departure from Zambia
After an early breakfast, check out and transfer to Victoria Falls Airport for your flight. This marks the end of your Zambia safari adventure.
