Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Our company driver or guide will pick you up from the airport or from your hotel in Arusha to start your 7-Day Tanzania Safari. You will be transferred to Tarangire National Park. This park is famous for being the home to thousands of African Elephants. You will reach the park in the afternoon just in time for lunch. Have your lunch as you relax a little before starting your first adventure.
After lunch, you will drive out into the park for a game drive to search for different wildlife. You can spot many animals like zebras, impalas, hyenas, and the rare oryx. You might also see gerenuk, elands, and buffaloes. There are also many different bird species to see on this afternoon game drive. At the end of the day, you will head to your camp or lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Wake up for an early morning game drive. This is a great time to spot the predators that call Tarangire National Park their home. Look out for lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas. You might have a chance to see some hunting action or see them eating their morning catch.
After a delicious breakfast at your camp, you will transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Here, you will explore the area around the crater rim. You can spot different wildlife species that live outside the crater, such as giraffes. You will arrive in time for lunch. Afterward, you will go for a game drive around the crater rim and the conservation area. This part of the 7-Day Tanzania Safari offers great views of the landscape. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at your camp or lodge.
Day 3: Full day exploration of the Ngorongoro Crater
After your breakfast, you will drive to the crater rim and descend into the famous and scenic crater. This is a full day exploration of the Ngorongoro crater floor. A tour of the crater is very rewarding because you have a chance to spot all members of the Big Five. This includes lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and the rare black rhino.
Other animals to spot here include wildebeests, zebras, hyenas, and cheetahs. You can also see hippos in the water, elands, and many types of gazelles. There are over 450 bird species in the crater. You will have your lunch at a designated picnic spot as you look at the views around you. Later in the afternoon, you will leave the crater and drive back to your lodge for an evening of relaxation. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at your camp or lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After a delicious breakfast, you will leave Ngorongoro for the world famous Serengeti National Park. On the way, you will go via the Olduvai Gorge. This is a place for a historical memory lane where many archaeological discoveries were made.
You will arrive in the Serengeti in the afternoon, just in time for a hot lunch at your camp. Thereafter, head out for your first game drive in this huge wilderness. It is a big part of your 7-Day Tanzania Safari. The park is full of thousands of animals and many different species of birds. After the drive, you will have dinner and stay at your camp or lodge.
Day 5: Full day Game Viewing
Wake up and have a hot cup of coffee or tea. Then, set out for an early morning game drive to catch up with the predators. You stand a chance of seeing the big cats like lions, cheetahs, and leopards while they are active. You might see them hunting or eating. Drive back to your camp for a full breakfast. Afterward, you will head out to the park again with a packed picnic lunch for a whole day adventure.
While on the game drive, look out for wildebeests, elephants, buffaloes, and impalas. You will also see giraffes, hippos, warthogs, and topis. If you happen to visit the park between June and October, you stand a chance of witnessing the Great Migration. This is where millions of wildebeests and thousands of zebras move across the plains. It is a truly amazing sight. You will head back to your camp for dinner and sleep.
Day 6: Transfer to Lake Manyara
After your breakfast, you will go for one more game drive in the Serengeti. As you head out, you will travel to Lake Manyara National Park. This park is the home of the famous tree climbing lions. This is a very special sight that you can only see in a few places.
When you arrive at the park, you will have an afternoon game drive. Expect to see elephants, buffaloes, wildebeests, and cheetahs. You will also see giraffes, zebras, and warthogs. The lake is often full of thousands of flamingos and other birds. After the drive, you will go to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening.
Day 7: Game drive & Transfer back to Arusha
On the final day of your 7-Day Tanzania Safari, you will head out for a pre-sunrise game drive. This is your last chance to catch up with the early risers and the big cats. These animals are more active during the cooler hours of the morning.
Drive back to your camp for your breakfast. Thereafter, you will depart for Arusha. You will be dropped at your hotel for the night or at the airport to catch your flight back home. This marks the end of your amazing journey through Tanzania.
