This 10-day South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi, and Kafue National Park safari is made for travelers who want to enjoy an adventurous time in the natural areas of Zambia.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: From Lusaka to Kafue National Park, evening safari
You will be picked up from your hotel in Lusaka by the tour guide and drive to Kafue National Park. The journey takes about 6 hours and 12 minutes, covering about 357 kilometers.
On arrival, continue to the lodge for lunch and rest in the afternoon.
In the evening, a game drive will take place, where you will see animals and birds such as springboks, meerkats, impalas, waterbucks, elands, genets, leopards, buffaloes, jackals, servals, and hippos.
Return to the lodge at sunset for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Explore Kafue National Park – morning & afternoon game drives
Start the day with an early breakfast at sunrise. After the meal, go on a morning game drive to look for more animals. Return to the lodge for lunch in the afternoon.
Later, another game drive will take place. You may see rare birds such as African jacanas, darters, marabou storks, hammerkops, fish eagles, turacos, ground hornbills, bee-eaters, egrets, piapiacs, and Egyptian geese. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and rest.
Day 3: Morning game drive & afternoon sport fishing
Have an early breakfast at the lodge. Afterward, go on a sunrise game drive to look for big animals and other species in the park. At midday, return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, go to the Kafue River for sport fishing. You may catch fish like African catfish and largemouth bass. After the activity, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to South Luangwa National Park
After breakfast, check out and start your journey to South Luangwa National Park. The drive takes around 14 hours and 33 minutes, covering about 180 kilometers.
You will stop in Lusaka for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing the trip.
On arrival at the park, go straight to the lodge, enjoy dinner, and rest for the night.
Day 5: Adventure in South Luangwa – morning & afternoon game drives
Have an early breakfast before starting a morning game drive in the grasslands of the park. Animals you may see include lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, rhinos, servals, impalas, hyenas, hartebeests, waterbucks, elands, and giraffes.
Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, go on another game drive to explore deeper parts of the park. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Morning game drive & canoe ride
Start the day with breakfast, then go on a morning game drive to see more animals and birds. Return to the lodge for lunch and some rest.
Later in the afternoon, head to the Luangwa River for a canoe ride. This gives you a chance to reach areas that vehicles cannot access. Return to the lodge at sunset for dinner and rest.
Day 7: Travel to Lower Zambezi National Park, evening walk
After breakfast, leave for Lower Zambezi National Park. The journey takes about 5 hours and 33 minutes, covering around 359 kilometers.
On arrival, check in at the lodge, have lunch, and relax in the afternoon. In the evening, go on a guided walk around the lodge area to see plants and animals.
Some common trees include acacias and figs. Return to the lodge at dark for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Explore Lower Zambezi – morning game drive & boat cruise
Have breakfast early and go on a morning game drive in the deeper parts of the park. Look out for elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, jackals, servals, hippos, hyenas, hartebeests, waterbucks, and wildebeests.
Return to the lodge for lunch, then enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on the Zambezi River. This is a good way to see more animals and birds. Return to the lodge at dusk for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Morning game drive & sport fishing
After breakfast, go on a morning game drive to see more animals, especially the cats like lions, leopards, servals, cheetahs, and genets.
Return to the lodge for lunch, then rest in the afternoon. In the evening, go for sport fishing on the Zambezi River. You may catch fish like catfish, largemouth bass, and hake. Return to the lodge for dinner, a sundowner, and overnight stay.
Day 10: Departure to Lusaka – End of Safari
Enjoy breakfast early in the morning, then check out of the lodge. Drive back to Lusaka, a trip that takes about 2 hours and 44 minutes, covering around 168 kilometers.
