7-Day Northern Namibian Adventure Tour

Enjoy Namibia’s most popular places on this 7-Day Northern Namibian Adventure Tour. You will visit the coastal town of Swakopmund, the ancient rock engravings at Twyfelfontein (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007), and the famous Etosha National Park.

Etosha is home to over 114 types of mammals, 110 reptiles, and more than 300 kinds of birds. This tour is one of the easiest ways to travel and experience Namibia.

Day 1: Swakopmund

You will be picked up from your accommodation in Windhoek and driven to the coast. Swakopmund is a cool and often foggy town between the Atlantic Ocean and the Namib Desert.

It has many things to do and see. The town has old German buildings, wide streets, many restaurants, coffee shops, and souvenir stores.

You will stay at The Delight Hotel, a lovely place in the desert that will be your home in Swakopmund.

Day 2: Swakopmund & Sandwich Harbour

Start your day with a delicious breakfast at The Delight. You can enjoy champagne, fresh orange juice, and oysters from Walvis Bay. Then you can explore the town or take part in different activities.

Swakopmund is known as Namibia’s adventure capital. Activities include desert tours, kayaking, dolphin cruises, sandboarding, quad biking, and skydiving.

Choose what you like or take it easy and enjoy a meal at one of the local restaurants.

Day 3: Swakopmund to Damaraland

After your time in Swakopmund, you will drive north to Henties Bay, then head inland through Uis and towards the Brandberg mountains. Today’s main focus is rock art.

You will visit Twyfelfontein, where hunters and gatherers once lived. They made rock carvings to pray for rain, good health, and hunting success.

The dry desert has helped keep these carvings safe for thousands of years. You will also visit the Organ Pipes, Burnt Mountain, and the Petrified Forest, all showing the area’s interesting history.

In the afternoon, you will arrive at Damara Mopane Lodge, where each room has its own small garden.

Day 4: Damaraland

Spend the day relaxing at Damara Mopane Lodge. You can enjoy the cool swimming pool under the sun. Find a quiet spot to read a book or simply rest.

In the late afternoon, take a short walk to the sunset deck. Have a drink while watching the sun go down over the landscape.

Day 5: Damaraland to Etosha National Park

Today you will travel to the heart of Namibia—Etosha National Park—passing through Outjo. On the way, you will visit a Himba village before entering the park for an afternoon game drive.

You will stay at Etosha Safari Camp, a relaxed and friendly place with a restaurant built like the old local taverns. In the evening, enjoy live music as you eat your dinner.

Listen to local songs, tap your feet, and enjoy the fun before heading to your room for a quiet night in Etosha.

Day 6: Etosha Safari Camp

Today you will go on a full-day game drive in Etosha National Park. You will leave early to have a better chance of seeing animals.

You will explore many parts of the park, from open salt pans to mopane woodlands. Look out for elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and many kinds of antelope and birds.

Your guide will teach you about the park’s animals and plants. You will also stop at different waterholes where animals come to drink, giving you great chances for photos and special sightings.

Day 7: Etosha to Windhoek

After breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Windhoek. As you drive through the countryside, notice how the views change from wide savannas in the north to the hills near the capital.

This is a good time to think about the memories and experiences from your trip.

You will be dropped off at your chosen place in Windhoek. You can spend time exploring the city, shopping, or relaxing as you get ready for your next adventure or trip home.
