6-Day Namibia Wildlife, Dunes & Coast Guided Safari

Are you short on time but want to see some of Namibia’s best places? Then this 6-Day Namibia Wildlife, Dunes and Coast Guided Safari is for you!

The tour starts in Windhoek where you will spend your first night at a wildlife sanctuary.

The next day, you will travel to the world-famous Sossusvlei and stay there for two nights. Your last stop is Swakopmund, a town known for adventure, nature, and relaxation.

The tour ends in Windhoek, where you can add an extension to Etosha National Park if you wish.

Day 1: Hosea Kutako International Airport to Naankuse Wildlife Sanctuary

Welcome to Namibia! Your guide will meet you in the airport arrivals hall holding a sign with your name. After loading your luggage into the vehicle, you will drive about 45 minutes to the first lodge near the airport. Along the way, we may see some wildlife.

Depending on your arrival time, we may go on a sunset game drive in the nearby Zannier Reserve. Sunset drives give a chance to see animals that come out at night. We may spot rhinos, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, leopards, ostriches, black-backed jackals, warthogs, antelopes, and many birds.

We will have our first dinner together, share stories about the day’s sightings, and rest up for the journey ahead.

Day 2: Naankuse Wildlife Sanctuary to Sossusvlei

We will meet for breakfast at 8:00 am and talk about the day’s plans. After a good Namibian breakfast, we will head to our next destination.

Along the way, we will stop to take photos of the beautiful land. Mid-morning, we will stop for coffee at a great viewpoint to enjoy the wide Namibian views.

If time allows, we will stop in Solitaire for the famous apple pie, a Namibian treat you should not miss. The drive takes about 4 to 5 hours. We will arrive at our lodge near Sesriem gate in time to watch the sunset and enjoy drinks while planning for the early start tomorrow.

Sossusvlei is part of the largest conservation area in Africa, the Namib-Naukluft National Park. It is one of Namibia’s top attractions.

Day 3: Sossusvlei

We will wake early before sunrise for our visit to Sossusvlei. We will have a quick coffee or tea and wait for the park gates to open at sunrise. Then we will drive about 30 minutes while watching the sun rise over the red dunes. These dunes are some of the highest in the world, almost 400 meters tall, making great photo spots in the morning and evening light.

If you like adventure, you can climb the dunes, slide down, or walk to Dead Vlei. You will have plenty of time to explore the area.

We will stop halfway for a picnic breakfast while enjoying the views. After a busy morning, we return to the lodge for lunch and some free time. In the late afternoon, we will go on a sundowner drive from the lodge.

Day 4: Sossusvlei to Swakopmund

Today, we will have a relaxed breakfast. For those interested, there is an option to take an early morning balloon ride (please ask about this).

We will travel slowly to Swakopmund, stopping for coffee and to take photos of the changing landscape.

We will reach Swakopmund late afternoon, giving time to settle in before meeting for sundowner drinks and dinner at one of the town’s nice restaurants.

Day 5: Swakopmund

We will start the day enjoying the Namibian sunrise and coffee before our morning adventure. After breakfast, you will be picked up for the Living Desert Adventure.

You will return to the hotel around 1:00 pm. After lunch, we will head to Walvis Bay to see the thousands of waterbirds living in the lagoon. Then we return to Swakopmund to enjoy our last Namibia sunset and have dinner at a local restaurant.

There are many optional activities in Swakopmund such as scenic flights, quad biking, fat bike tours, horse riding, skydiving, and catamaran cruises. Please ask if you want more details.

Day 6: Departure

After a relaxed breakfast and maybe some last-minute shopping, we will travel back to Windhoek. You will be dropped off at Hosea Kutako International Airport for your flight home. You can extend your tour to Etosha National Park or the Caprivi region. Please ask about these options.
