This 9-day tour shows you the hidden beauty and adventure of northern Madagascar. You will explore rainforests, clean beaches, and see unique wildlife like lemurs.
You will also learn about the island’s history and enjoy the culture by visiting local villages and markets.
Day 1: Arrival & Welcome
When you arrive, you will be met by your English-speaking guide. They will take you to your hotel near the airport. Check in and relax.
You have the rest of the day free to rest and feel at home. Madagascar welcomes you.
Day 2: Flight to Northern Madagascar & City Tour
After breakfast, you will go to Antananarivo airport for a flight to northern Madagascar. The friendly Antakarana people will welcome you with warm smiles.
Your trip starts here with a city tour. After the tour, check into your hotel and relax for the rest of the day.
Day 3: Travel to the Red Tsingy
In the morning, you will travel on roads through different landscapes to the red Tsingy, which means “pointed rock.” This place feels like another world.
The tall rock formations shaped by wind and rain show colors from yellow to red. Later, you will continue to Ankarana, your stop for the day.
Day 4: Ankarana National Park & Bat Cave
Start your day with breakfast before going to Ankarana National Park. On the way, you will see new sights. You will walk in the rain-forest with many trees, including baobabs, along the Tsingy and Lost Rivers trails.
You will hike to the bat cave where you may see lemurs, black parrots, and bats. The trail is not too hard but has some steep parts that will test your fitness.
Day 5: Visit to Millot Plantation & Travel to Ankify
Today you will travel to Ankify. On the way, stop at the Millot plantation to learn about cocoa and see how scents like ylang, vetiver, patchouli, and palma rosa are made. After more travel filled with new experiences, you will arrive in Ankify.
Day 6: Speedboat to Nosy Komba & Island Tour
In the morning, you will go to the port and take a speedboat to Nosy Komba, the second-largest island after Nosy Be. Visit a fishing village with traditional boats and markets for embroidery and wood crafts.
Then visit a small park to see boa constrictors, chameleons, land tortoises, and the Macaco lemur. The lemur may even sit on your shoulder and let you pet it.
Later, visit the natural underwater reserve of Nosy Tanikely to see coral, colorful fish, crabs, groupers, moray eels, and sea turtles. Walk to the lighthouse to find dogfish and lemurs in the trees.
You will have a picnic lunch here before returning to the hotel in the afternoon.
Days 7–8: Free Time for Activities in Nosy Be
Over these two days, enjoy many exciting activities like diving or biking along wild beaches. Nosy Be has many options to choose from. You decide how to spend your time.
Day 9: Departure
Today your northern Madagascar tour ends. You will be taken to the airport for your flight home. You will leave with special memories and amazing views from this once-in-a-lifetime trip.
