Detailed 2-Day Gorilla Tour from Kigali Itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Early in the morning, you will be picked up by our experienced driver-guide from the hotel where you spent the previous night. He will brief you about the entire trip and then immediately start the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The journey involves crossing the border into Uganda, giving you stunning views of the Virunga mountain ranges.
Upon arrival in the afternoon, check in at the lodge, have lunch, and take some time to relax. In the evening, visit the Batwa community to see the world through their eyes. Witness how they used to hunt and gather fruits during their days in the forest. Enjoy traditional performances and sample local delicacies. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as you prepare for the next big day.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Kigali
We will depart for the park headquarters early in the morning after breakfast to attend the gorilla trekking briefing provided by a local guide. During this briefing, you will learn about the dos and don’ts while trekking to see these magnificent apes.
Gorilla trekking involves walking through the thick forest in search of these forest giants. The duration of the trek can vary, taking anywhere from one to eight hours. Some lucky groups may spot the apes within just an hour, while others may spend up to four hours searching for them. You will have the opportunity to spend one magical hour with these forest giants, observing them as they go about their daily lives, playing on tree branches, and feeding. Feel free to take as many pictures as you like, as long as your camera doesn’t have a flash. After this remarkable hour, we will make our way back to the park headquarters.
Following the trek, enjoy lunch at the lodge, check out, and begin your journey back to Kigali town. This marks the end of the two-day gorilla safari.
