This is 13 days of unforgettable moments and amazing sights, with Uganda’s great attractions, activities, places to stay, and good weather.

You will visit Murchison Falls National Park, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, meet the Batwa pygmies, see chimpanzees at Kibale Forest National Park, gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, tree-climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park, birds and hot springs in Semuliki National Park, and antelopes in Lake Mburo National Park.

You will be picked up and dropped off at Entebbe International Airport.

Detailed 13 Days Uganda Adventure Tour

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Ready for the adventure, you will meet your driver guide at either the airport or Kampala, Uganda’s capital. You will get a full briefing about the trip before heading to Lake Mburo, home to many antelope species.

The drive takes about 4 hours. Lunch will be at Igongo Cultural Center, where you can enjoy some local culture before resting at the lodge with dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 2: Game drive & Boat cruise

After a tasty breakfast at the lodge, you will go on a 3-4 hour game drive. You will look for animals like impalas, oribis, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and elephants.

After lunch, you will take a 2-hour boat cruise where you may see crocodiles, hippos, many birds, and other animals. You will end the day with dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Start the day with a warm breakfast, then check out for a drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the famous mountain gorillas found only in Africa.

The drive offers great views of the land, plantations, and more, with a stop for lunch. You will arrive late at your lodge in your chosen sector for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking & Batwa pygmies encounter

After a morning coffee, you will leave the lodge for the sector headquarters. Here you will have a 30-minute briefing and document check before trekking.

Depending on your pace and where the gorillas are, the trek can last from 1 to 6 hours. You will then spend about an hour watching them play, eat, and interact.

After lunch at the lodge, you will meet the Batwa pygmies in the evening. Known as the shortest people in the country, their stories, songs, and traditional dress make for an exciting evening before dinner and rest at the lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Ishasha sector – Tree climbing lion exploration

Have breakfast at your lodge with views of Bwindi Forest, then check out for the Ishasha sector in the south of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After an early lunch, spend the evening tracking the tree-climbing lions. You may see one or more lions resting on tree branches. End the day relaxing at your lodge in the central area of the park.

Day 7: Game drive & Transfer to Semuliki National Park – night game drive

At daybreak, enjoy breakfast, followed by a 2 to 3 hour game drive. Then check out and travel to Semuliki National Park, about a 2 to 3 hour drive.

After lunch and refreshments, you will take a sunset game drive to look for night animals such as lions, hippos, and hyenas. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 8: Bird watching & sightseeing

After breakfast, you will spend the first four hours of the day spotting over 450 bird species in Semuliki Forest. You may see turacos, cranes, shoebill storks, egrets, lovebirds, and others singing, feeding, or resting.

Your guide and a bird book will help you identify the birds by their names, size, color, and sounds. After lunch, spend the evening at Sempaya Hot Springs, where the water is hot enough to boil an egg.

Return to the lodge at sunset for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

At daybreak, enjoy a good breakfast, then check out for a transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. You will see great views of the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains and many plantations along the way. Have lunch at the lodge, then relax before dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi swamp walk

After breakfast, you will go to the park headquarters for registration and a trekking briefing. Chimpanzees are close relatives of humans, sharing about 98.7% of our DNA.

Trekking can last 1 to 6 hours, plus one hour for photos.

After lunch and rest, visit Bigodi Swamp, a wetland area where you can see more primates, birds, and local people going about their daily lives. End the day at the lodge with dinner and rest.

Day 11: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Start with a hearty breakfast, then check out for a transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s oldest and largest park, home to one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world.

You will have lunch on the way and dinner at sunset.

Day 12: Game drive & Boat cruise

After breakfast, you will go on a 3-4 hour game drive in the northern part of the park. You may see lions, leopards, elephants, many antelope species, and cheetahs.

After lunch, take a 2 to 3 hour boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. At the bottom, you will hear the roar of the water and see Nile crocodiles and many water birds.

Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.

Day 13: Departure

Depending on your flight time, you may take a sunrise guided nature walk before breakfast. Then you will check out and travel to the airport.

On the way, you will stop for an hour at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a short trek, followed by lunch.
