This short safari gives you a chance to see the Big Five animals, different antelopes, and some primates. It includes a boat ride on Lake Ihema, where you may see Nile crocodiles, hippos, and antelopes along the quiet shores.

The tour also includes game drives where you may see lions, warthogs, elephants, Rothschild giraffes, rhinos, black and white colobus monkeys, topis, leopards, buffaloes, common elands, vervet monkeys, Defassa waterbucks, olive baboons, kobs, zebras, serval cats, and more. Detailed 4-Day Rwanda Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda & Hotel Drop-off

On the first day of your wildlife safari, our company driver will pick you up from the airport and drive you to your hotel so you can rest after your flight.

In the evening, enjoy a short city tour, then return for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Drive to Akagera National Park

After breakfast, begin your journey to Akagera National Park on Rwanda’s eastern border. The drive takes about 2 to 3 hours. When you arrive, check in at your lodge and enjoy views of the open grasslands and nearby animals. In the afternoon, take a boat ride on Lake Ihema.

During the boat ride, you may see hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, buffaloes, and elephants along the lake shore. After the boat ride, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Full-Day Wildlife Viewing in Akagera

After breakfast, begin a full day of exploring Akagera National Park. Start with a morning game drive that lasts about 3 to 4 hours. Animals you may see include kobs, vervet monkeys, roan antelopes, Defassa waterbucks, leopards, Rothschild giraffes, serval cats, topis, elephants, elands, black and white colobus monkeys, duikers, lions, oribis, buffaloes, bushbucks, hyenas, zebras, olive baboons, and rhinos.

Return to the lodge for lunch, then go for another game drive in the afternoon to see more animals and birds. In the evening, go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Enjoy a bonfire and traditional dance performances at the lodge to end your day.

Day 4: Return to Kigali & Departure

This is the last day of your safari. After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive to see more animals that you may have missed earlier.

Have lunch at the lodge, then check out and drive to Kigali International Airport for your flight or next destination. This marks the end of your 4-day wildlife safari in Akagera National Park.
