Day 1: Pickup and transfer to Tarangire National Park
On the first day of your 2-day Lake Manyara and Tarangire Safari, your driver will pick you up from the airport. He will brief you about the trip and then transfer you to Tarangire National Park. On the way, you will pass through tea plantations and Maasai villages. You will see traditional houses and views of Mount Meru, which is the second-highest mountain in Tanzania after Mount Kilimanjaro.
When you arrive at the park, you will check in to your lodge and have lunch. Later, you will go for an evening game drive. You will have a chance to see lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, bushbucks, impalas, and many different birds. You will also enjoy the open views of the landscape. After the drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 2: Explore Lake Manyara National Park and proceed to Arusha
Wake up early and have breakfast. Get your packed lunch and check out of the lodge. You will travel to Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive. During this part of your 2-day Lake Manyara and Tarangire Safari, you may see animals like wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, antelopes, impalas, hartebeests, elephants, buffaloes, and leopards. If you are lucky, you will see the tree-climbing lions.
At the lake, you may spot flamingos along the shores. These birds give the water a bright pink color. You will enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the animal viewing points. After the game drive, you will leave the park and travel back to Arusha. You will be dropped off at the airport or your hotel. This marks the end of your safari.
