Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Erindi Game Reserve
Your guide will pick you up in Windhoek and take you to Erindi Game Reserve in southeastern Omaruru. Erindi means “place of water.” The reserve covers 790 square kilometers and is home to animals like kudus, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, and many birds. After lunch, enjoy a guided afternoon game drive.
Day 2: Full Day at Erindi
After an early breakfast, spend the day exploring Erindi. You will go on a guided bush walk to see animals up close and learn more about the wildlife in the reserve, both small and large.
Day 3: Drive to Twyfelfontein
Leave Erindi for Twyfelfontein in northwestern Namibia. This area is known for its rock carvings, with over 2,000 found here. It became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007. Go on a nature drive and look for desert elephants.
Day 4: Travel to Etosha National Park
After breakfast, head to Etosha National Park. This is one of the best places in Southern Africa to see animals around waterholes. Later, go on a guided game drive to look for some of the Big Five.
Day 5: Full Day in Etosha
Take your camera and go on a full-day game drive. Etosha is home to more than 114 species of mammals. You may see lions, rhinos, elephants, wild dogs, zebras, leopards, and more.
Day 6: Visit Grootfontein & Mangetti Park
Start early and drive to Grootfontein, also known as “Big Fountain.” Along the way, stop at Tsumeb for shopping and visit a local Bushmen village. In Mangetti National Park, watch for animals like sables, impalas, elands, giraffes, and zebras.
Day 7: Transfer to Divundu and Mahango Game Reserve
After breakfast, travel to the Kavango River and visit Mahango Game Reserve. Watch for giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, hippos, and elephants. Drive through the Caprivi area and pass Bwabwata National Park, a region known for its many elephants.
Day 8: Full Day in Divundu
Wake up early and enjoy tea or coffee before starting your guided game viewing. In the afternoon, take a peaceful Mokoro boat ride, a traditional canoe, on the river and relax while watching animals near the water.
Day 9: Travel to Kasane & Chobe River Cruise
After breakfast, drive to Kasane, where four countries—Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe—meet. The area is known for elephants and natural hot springs. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Chobe River.
Day 10: Departure from Kasane Airport
After breakfast, your guide will take you to Kasane International Airport for your flight home. The airport is located just 4 kilometers south of Kasane town. This marks the end of your 10-day Big Five safari in Namibia and Botswana.
