Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pickup and Drive to Volcanoes National Park
Your trip begins with great views of Rwanda’s hills and green countryside as you arrive at Kigali International Airport. You will meet our driver guide, who will give you a short briefing about the week ahead. After the meeting, you will start the drive to Volcanoes National Park.
The journey takes about 2 hours. You will see many small farms and people going about their daily lives. You will stop for a good lunch in Kigali city, then continue to your lodge near the park. Once you arrive, check in for dinner and rest to prepare for your big walk the next day.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Visit
After an early breakfast, you will go to the park headquarters. Here you will check in, get assigned to a gorilla group, and listen to a briefing from the park rangers. Gorilla trekking can take 1 to 6 hours, depending on where the gorillas were last seen eating or sleeping.

Day 3: Fly to Nairobi, Kenya
After breakfast, you will drive back to Kigali International Airport. You will take a flight to Nairobi, Kenya. Nairobi is one of the busiest and safest cities in East Africa. It is a big city with many tall buildings and busy markets.
At Jomo Kenyatta Airport, our representative will meet you and take you to your hotel. You will have a short briefing about the Kenya part of your safari. You can then enjoy dinner and relax in the city for the night.
Day 4: From Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
Have breakfast at the hotel and check out. Then you will begin the drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. This is one of the best places to see wildlife in Kenya. The drive takes about 6 hours in total. You will stop at the Great Rift Valley to take photos of the wide views.
Afterward, you will stop at Narok town for a local lunch. You will then continue for about 2 more hours on a dirt road. On this road, you will pass large farms and small villages. You might even start seeing animals like zebras or gazelles as you enter the reserve area. Check in at your lodge, have dinner, and rest.
Day 5: Full Day Game Drive
Start the day with an early game drive. This is the best time to see lions and cheetahs because they are active in the morning. You may also see elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and zebras. If you are lucky, you might spot a rhino or a leopard.
You will enjoy a bush breakfast and a picnic lunch inside the park so you do not have to drive back to the lodge. Later in the afternoon, you will visit the Mara River. This is where you can see many hippos, large crocodiles, and water birds. Enjoy a sunset game drive as the sky changes color before returning to the lodge for dinner.
Day 6: Bird Watching and Maasai Cultural Visit
After sunrise and a hot coffee, you will go for a half day bird watching tour. You will look for beautiful birds like flamingos, ostriches, and sunbirds. A bird guide will help you understand their different sounds and how they live. This walk is a great way to see the smaller parts of nature.
After lunch at the lodge, you will spend the evening with the Maasai warriors. These local people have lived with the wildlife for a very long time. You can enjoy their music, watch them dance, and listen to their stories. End the day with a final safari dinner and rest.
Day 7: Departure
