Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park
The company driver / guide will pick you up from the airport upon arrival or from your hotel in Nairobi and transfer you to the birder’s haven, Lake Nakuru National Park which lies on the floor of the Great Rift Valley.
Arriving Lake Nakuru National park in the afternoon, you will have your lunch and then embark on your first game drive. Enjoy the different habitats in the park including the famous Lake Nakuru itself whose shores are lined with beautiful Flamingos (numbers have greatly reduced during the past years), different bird species among other wildlife like zebras, rhinos, hippos, lions, baboons, giraffes, waterbucks, impalas, elands e.t.c. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 2: Game drive in Lake Nakuru NP – Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
Early morning game drive before sunrise for chances to spot the night dwellers and other predators on their morning hunt feast. Watch the park come to life at sunrise and the animals prepare to start a new day. Return to you lodge / camp for breakfast, check out and exit the Lake Nakuru National Park for Masai Mara National Park with one more game drive for more wildlife sightings.
Upon arrival in the Masai Mar NR, drive straight to your lodge / camp for a delicious lunch and a little relaxation. Embark on and evening game drive to catch a glimpse of the animals that call the famous Mara home. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 3: Full day game viewing drive
Game drive extravaganza. Masai Mara National Reserve is the most popular game park in Kenya. World famous for the annual great Wildebeest Migration. It takes place every year July – October on the challenging Mara River. Today, you will drive to different corners of this amazing park. For thrilling game viewing opportunities and for a chance to witness the migration.
Animals to spot include the lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, buffalos, elephants, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, gazelles, hyenas, jackals, warthogs accompanied by different species of birds. Dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp.
Day 4: Back to Nairobi
Pre-sunrise game drive in the Mara plains to rise and shine with the wildlife in the park. (You can opt for a hot air balloon safari at an extra cost). Return to your lodge / camp for breakfast. Check out and prepare for your road trip back to Nairobi. You will be dropped at your hotel or at the airport to catch your flight back home.
