This two-week trip lets you enjoy both South Africa and Mozambique. Your honeymoon will be full of great memories, wildlife adventures, and fun activities.
You will explore Cape Town, go on wine tours, enjoy safari game drives, and relax on the clean, white sandy beaches of Mozambique.
When you arrive in Cape Town, you will enjoy beautiful views, tasty food, fun activities, and comfortable city hotels.
You will also visit the Winelands, go whale watching off the Cape coast, enjoy a big five safari, and relax at one of the world’s most untouched beach spots.
Day 1: Arrival in Cape Town
A Wayfarer representative will meet you and give you the keys to your hire car. You will get a digital copy of detailed driving directions, emergency contacts, and a sat-nav system.
This will help you drive safely to your city hotel, where you will stay for three nights. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and explore Cape Town in the afternoon.
You can visit Greenmarket Square, Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, or hike to the top of Lion’s Head.
In the evening, choose from many restaurants for your dinner.
Days 2 to 4: Exploring Cape Town & Surroundings
Spend these days exploring Cape Town and relaxing at your hotel. The city offers many activities and day trips. You can take a city tour including Table Mountain and taste seafood at a local market.
Another day, visit the Cape Peninsula. Highlights include Boulders Beach to see penguins and a guided tour of the Winelands. In Simon’s Town, see African penguins at Boulders Bay.
At Langa township, visit community projects, craft markets, restaurants, and local shebeens. Cape Point offers views of the Indian Ocean and mountains.
You can walk the shipwreck trail, learn maritime history, spot Cape mountain zebra in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, or ride the Flying Dutchman Funicular to the old lighthouse.
Day 5: Flight to Kruger Area & Transfer to Makalali Conservancy
After breakfast, transfer to Cape Town Airport for your flight to the Kruger National Park area. On arrival, a representative will pick you up and drive you to a luxury camp in Makalali Conservancy near Kruger National Park. This will be your base for exploring Kruger.
Days 6 and 7: Safari Game Drives
Your expert guide will take you on early morning drives to see big cats like lion, leopard, and cheetah. Enjoy a bush breakfast and return to the camp to rest or swim before lunch.
In the late afternoon, go on another game drive to see animals like elephant, buffalo, white and black rhino, hippo, crocodile, hyenas, wild dogs, zebras, giraffe, and many antelope species.
After watching the sunset with a drink, return for a delicious dinner under the stars. Spend your first night in the African bush.
Day 8: Transfer to Johannesburg
After breakfast and a morning game drive, transfer to Hoedspruit Airport for your flight to Johannesburg. There, your representative will take you to a boutique hotel set in quiet gardens with a pool and restaurant, in the Melrose suburb.
Day 9: Flight to Vilanculos, Mozambique
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Vilanculos. On arrival, you will be picked up and driven to Bahia Mar resort. The resort sits on a plateau above coastal lagoons in south central Mozambique.
It is perfect for relaxing or leisure time. The resort is near gardens with palm and acacia trees and views of the turquoise waters of the Mozambique Channel. You can try activities like kitesurfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving on sandy beaches or in the warm Indian Ocean nearby.
Days 10 to 13: Beach Relaxation & Activities
These days are free to relax or join activities. You may take a boat trip to nearby islands to spot dolphins, sharks, and maybe dugongs. Visit local villages and fishermen’s markets, take a tuk-tuk ride along the coast, or sail on a traditional dhow.
Try water sports like snorkeling, diving, wakeboarding, kite surfing, windsurfing, fat biking, horse riding, and canoeing on the Govuro River. On land, play beach soccer, volleyball, or relax by the pool with a cocktail while enjoying the Vilanculos beaches.
Day 14: Departure
Enjoy a final breakfast with views of the coastline. You will be transferred to Vilanculos Airport for your flight to Johannesburg. From there, connect to your international flight home.
You will return with many stories about Mozambique’s ocean life and beaches, and South Africa’s Kruger National Park and wildlife.
