4 Days Somaliland Highlights Tour – Of all the places to see in Somaliland, Las Geel is one of the most interesting. Day 1: Arrival & Hargeisa City Walk
You will be picked up and taken to your hotel. Depending on what time you arrive, you may get a chance to explore Hargeisa. After some rest, you can take a short walk through the center of the city to experience the local life and meet some of the people.
Day 2: Rock Art at Las Geel & Beach Time in Berbera
In the morning, you will visit the Civil War Memorial and the Central Market in Hargeisa. After that, you will go to Las Geel, which is one of the most important rock art sites in Africa. The paintings are around 10,000 years old and still have bright colors. After visiting Las Geel, you will travel to Berbera and check in at your hotel. You can then relax at the beach or go for a swim in the sea. The beach hotel also offers snorkeling gear, diving gear, and boat rides.
Day 3: Berbera Tour & Drive to Sheikh
After breakfast, you will explore the old part of Berbera, which has buildings from the Ottoman and British times. After the tour, you will leave Berbera and head to the mountain town of Sheikh. On the way, you will enjoy the views of the Sheikh mountains and the cooler weather.
Day 4: Cultural Encounters & Borama Visit
While traveling from Hargeisa to Borama, you will pass small towns like Arabsiyo and Gabiley. These towns are known for farming and keeping Somali traditions. You will meet some farmers and talk with them about their daily life. You will also stop at Dhagax Koure, an ancient rock painting site, where you will see animal and human images painted on stone in a quiet and peaceful setting. After that, you will continue to Borama, the third largest city in Somaliland and home to Amoud University. You will explore the city and then return to Hargeisa.
