This 7-day and 6-night tour takes you to some of the best places in Morocco. You will visit Meknes, the capital of Ismailia, the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, the blue city of Chefchaouen, and the capital cities of Rabat, Casablanca, and Marrakech.
Along the way, you will see the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N’Tichka Pass. You will also visit the Kasbah in Ait Ben Haddou, the studios in Ouarzazate, the Todra Gorges, and the Sahara Desert in Merzouga.
In the desert, you can ride camels, sleep in a tent, and enjoy the sunset and sunrise. You will also visit Barbary macaques in the cedar forest and Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco. The tour ends in Fes.
Day 1: Fes to Chefchaouen via Meknes & Volubilis
Your 7-day tour starts with an early morning pickup from the airport or your hotel in Fes. We begin by driving to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the capital of the Ismailis.
There, you will visit Bab Al Mansour, Sahrij Souani Basin, the royal stables, the granary, and the mausoleum. You will have free time for lunch.
After Meknes, we drive 30 km to visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis. These ruins are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will see mosaics, old arches, and columns.
After the visit, we drive north through Ouazzane to Chefchaouen, located in the Rif Mountains. It is called the blue city because of its blue-painted buildings and streets. You will spend the night in a hotel.
Day 2: Chefchaouen to Rabat
After breakfast, you will take a short walk through the blue city. Then we drive through the Rif Mountains to Rabat. Rabat is one of the oldest cities in Morocco and the capital. It is found in the northwest, by the Atlantic Ocean.
You will visit top sites in Rabat like the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of Oudaya. Later, we take you to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Rabat to Marrakech via Casablanca
After breakfast, we leave Rabat and drive along the coast to Casablanca, the largest and richest city in Morocco. We will visit the Hassan II Mosque, the second largest mosque in Africa. After that, we visit the Corniche area of Casablanca.
Later, we head to the red city of Marrakech, another imperial city. You will have free time to explore and walk through Jemaa El Fna square. You will spend the night in a hotel or a riad.
Day 4: Explore Marrakech with a Local Guide
After breakfast, we visit Marrakech with a local guide. You will visit the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Quranic School. Then we walk through the biggest traditional market in Morocco.
Lunch will be near Jemaa El Fna square. Later, we visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest in Marrakech, and the Majorelle Gardens.
After that, you return to your hotel. You can walk around Jemaa El Fna on your own in the evening.
Day 5: Marrakech to Ouarzazate via Ait Ben Haddou
In the early morning, we pick you up and drive through the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N’Tichka Pass. We stop at the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Many movies were filmed here, including Gladiator, The Mummy, and Alexander. After lunch, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the gate to the desert, where we will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 6: Ouarzazate to Merzouga Desert Camp
After breakfast, we visit a film studio where many movies were made. Then we continue to Rose Valley, where a rose festival is held every year. You will see local products made from roses.
We then drive to Todra Gorges. The river has cut a deep canyon into the red rocks. You can walk in the gorge and enjoy the view. After that, we drive through Touroug, Tinjdad, and Erfoud, and then reach the Sahara Desert in Merzouga.
There, you will ride camels across the sand dunes. You will stop at the top of a high dune to watch the sunset. At night, you will stay in a desert camp with tents and enjoy Berber music around a campfire under the stars.
Day 7: Merzouga to Fes via Midelt & Ifrane
You will wake up early to see the sunrise in the desert. After breakfast, you will return to Merzouga by camel. From there, we drive to Rissani, a town known for its big market on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
After a short visit, we continue to Erfoud to see a workshop for fossilized marble. Then we drive along the Ziz River and stop in Midelt for lunch.
After that, we visit the cedar forest where you can see Barbary macaques and feed them.
Our last stop is Ifrane, known for its cold weather, snow, and Swiss-style houses. In the evening, we return to Fes and drop you at the airport or your hotel.
