Experience a 5-day, 4-night tour of northern Morocco starting in Tangier. Visit Cape Spartel and Hercules Cave, cross the Rif Mountains, take a walk in the blue city of Chefchaouen, explore the well-preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis, and see the cities of Fes and Meknes.
Visit the main sights of Rabat, the capital of Morocco, and finish the tour in Casablanca.
Day 1: Arrival and Visit to Tangier, Hercules Cave & Cape Spartel
We will pick you up from your hotel, airport, or port in Tangier, also called “the bride of the north.” Tangier is in the northwest, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean near Cape Spartel.
On the first day, we will visit Tangier city, the Hercules Cave, and Cape Spartel. You will have free time for lunch. After that, we will drive inland to Chefchaouen.
On the way, we pass through Tetouan and cross the Rif Mountains with stops for nice views. You will stay overnight in a hotel in Chefchaouen.
Day 2: Explore Chefchaouen & Hike to the Spanish Mosque
After breakfast, we will visit Chefchaouen, also called “Achaoun,” which means “horn” in Berber. This city in the Rif Mountains is known for its blue and white buildings and narrow streets.
We will take a walk in the old Medina, where many blue doors make great photo spots. After lunch, you will have free time.
Later, you can hike to the Spanish Mosque, located on a hill with a great view of the whole blue city. Then, you will return to your hotel.
Day 3: Visit Volubilis Ruins, Meknes Imperial City & Travel to Fes
After breakfast, enjoy a walk through the streets of Chefchaouen. Then, we drive to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a well-preserved World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The ruins have many mosaics, pillars, and arches. After exploring Volubilis, we drive about 30 km to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the capital of the Ismaili dynasty.
In Meknes, we will visit Bab Mansour gate, the Sahrij Souani Basin, the Royal Stables, the Granary, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. After the visit, we continue to Fes for an overnight stay in a riad.
Day 4: Explore Fes – Medina, Religious Sites & Panoramic Views
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your lodging to explore Fes city. Fes is one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the country’s cultural and religious center.
We start at the Royal Palace gate, then visit the well-preserved medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main entrance is the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud).
A local guide will lead you through the Medina to see Bou Inania Madrasa, the Najjarine Fountain, the Tanneries, and the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, the oldest university in the world.
After the Medina, we visit the Jewish Quarter called “the Mellah.” Finally, we drive to an old fort for a panoramic view of the Medina and Fes city. We return to your riad.
Day 5: Visit Rabat Highlights & Return to Casablanca
After breakfast, we leave Fes and travel to Rabat, one of the oldest cities in Morocco and the current capital. Rabat is on the northwest coast. We visit key sites such as Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Muhammad V, and the Kasbah of Oudaya.
After some free time for lunch, we head to Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco. Depending on your flight time, we may visit the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco, before taking you to the airport and ending the tour.
