13 DAYS AROUND MOROCCO TOUR FROM CASABLANCA.–

This 13-day tour around Morocco starts and ends in Casablanca and includes 12 nights in different places across the country.

You will visit the north of Morocco, including Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, the Roman ruins of Volubilis, Meknes—the Ismaili capital—Fes, the cultural city, Ifrane (known as the Switzerland of Morocco) and the Cedars Forest.

You will also explore Midelt, the Ziz valley, traditional markets, Erfoud (the fossils town), and the Merzouga desert.

Here, you will ride camels and stay in a luxury camp in the middle of the desert, watching the beautiful sunset and sunrise in the Sahara.

The trip continues to Todra and Dades gorges, visit kasbahs, cross the Tizi Tichka pass, enjoy a guided tour in Marrakech and Essaouira, and finally return to Casablanca.

Day 1: Arrival & Casablanca City Tour

On the first day, we will pick you up from the airport, port, or your hotel in Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and economic center.

We will visit the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco, located on the western shore of the city overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Lunch is on your own.

Then, we will explore the city and visit the famous Corniche of Casablanca. Overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 2: Rabat & Assilah

After breakfast, we drive along the coast to Rabat, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the current capital. Here, we will visit the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of Oudaya. Lunch is free. Later, we head north to Assilah, a beautiful seaside town where we will stay overnight.

Day 3:Tangier & Chefchaouen

After breakfast, we leave Assilah and drive along the coast to Tangier, known as “the bride of the north.” Tangier lies in the northwest where the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean meet at Cape Spartel near the Strait of Gibraltar.

We will visit Tangier city, the Cave of Hercules, and Cape Spartel. After lunch, we will drive inland through Tetouan and the Rif Mountains, stopping along the way for nice views. We spend the night in Chefchaouen.

Day 4: Chefchaouen Exploration

After breakfast, we visit Chefchaouen, also called Achaoun, which means “horn” in Berber. This city in the Rif Mountains is famous for its white and blue buildings and narrow streets.

We start with a walk in the old Medina full of blue doors and white walls. Lunch is free. In the afternoon, you can hike to the Spanish Mosque, which stands on a high hill and offers great views of the blue city. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

Day 5: Volubilis Ruins, Meknes & Fes

After breakfast, take a relaxed walk through the blue streets of Chefchaouen. Then we drive to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The ruins have beautiful mosaics, columns, and arches.

After visiting the ruins, we drive 30 km to Meknes, the Ismaili capital and an important imperial city. We will see Bab Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, the Granary, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Then we drive to Fes and stay overnight in a riad.

Day 6: Fes City Tour

Fes is one of Morocco’s imperial cities and a cultural and religious center. Today we visit the Royal Palace gate and the well-preserved medieval Medina, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You will enter through the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud), the main entrance to the old Medina, which is like a maze of streets and alleys.

Inside the Medina, you will see Bou Inania Madrasa, the Najjarine Fountain, and the Tanneries. After this, we leave the Medina and visit the Jewish quarter called “the Mellah.”

In the afternoon, we drive to an old fortress to enjoy panoramic views of the Medina and Fes city. Finally, we return to your riad.

Day 7: Ifrane, Cedars Forest, Midelt & Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we head south to Ifrane, known for its cold weather, snow, and Alpine-style houses. This is why it is called the Switzerland of Morocco. Next, we visit the Cedars Forest, home to Barbary macaques, which you can feed as you walk around.

Later, we reach Midelt for a free lunch break. After lunch, we drive through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt Pass and along the Ziz Valley, stopping for nice views. In the late afternoon, we arrive at the Merzouga desert and meet the camels.

We ride camels across the sand dunes and stop on high dunes to watch the sunset. Then we reach the desert camp, which combines traditional nomad tents and luxury hotel-style accommodation. You can listen to Berber drum music and dance around the campfire under the stars. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

Day 8: Sunrise in the Desert & Merzouga Region Tour

Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise in the desert, followed by breakfast. After breakfast, ride camels back to Merzouga, where the driver will meet you.

Today, we explore the Merzouga area. Our first stop is an old eyeliner mine reached by off-road driving. Then we visit nomads living in handmade woven tents and learn about their life while drinking Berber tea.

Next, we go to the village of Khamlia to enjoy live Gnawa music and dancing from people originally from Mali, Sudan, and Niger. Lunch is free in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we walk in the palm grove and then drive to the wild lake of Merzouga (also called Flamingos Lake). Dinner and overnight in a hotel.

Day 9: Rissani, Erfoud, Todra Gorges & Dades Valley

After breakfast, we leave the desert and visit Rissani, the ancient capital of the Tafilalet region. Rissani still has a busy market (souk). After walking in the market, we drive to Erfoud and visit a workshop where fossilized marble is made.

From Erfoud, we drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad to reach Todra Gorges. The Todra River carved a large canyon with red cliffs, a popular place for rock climbing. You can walk in the gorges and enjoy the views.

Lunch is free at a local restaurant. Then we drive to Dades Valley through Boumalne Dades, stopping to see the “Monkey Fingers” rock formation and a viewpoint over the valley. Dinner and overnight in a hotel.

Day 10: Rose Valley, Ouarzazate & Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou

After breakfast, we continue to Kalaa Mgouna and visit Rose Valley. Every May, a Rose Festival is held here, where locals sell rose products like perfume, rose water, and oils.

We then drive through Skoura’s palm groves to Ouarzazate, where we visit film studios used in many movies. Next, we visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage Site. This kasbah was the setting for many films like Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, and the TV series Game of Thrones.

After the visit, we drive to Marrakech through the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass and the High Atlas Mountains, stopping for lunch and photos. Overnight stay in a riad in Marrakech.

Day 11: Marrakech City Tour

After breakfast, a local guide will show you the main sites of Marrakech, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. We will visit Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Madrasa.

We walk through the largest souk in Morocco. Lunch is free near Jemaa el-Fna square. Then, visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in Marrakech, and the Majorelle Gardens.

After the tour, you return to your accommodation but can explore Jemaa el-Fna square on your own.

Day 12: Essaouira Day Trip

After breakfast, we travel west to Essaouira, stopping along the way to see goats climbing Argan trees and enjoy the views.

In Essaouira (formerly called Mogador), we visit the fishing port, the old city walls with cannons, and the Medina. Then we check into your hotel for the night.

Day 13: Return to Casablanca & Departure

On the last day, we leave Essaouira and drive along the coast, stopping to enjoy the views. Finally, we reach the airport in Casablanca, where your tour ends.
