Experience the rich history, culture, and ancient buildings of Egypt on this 7-day tour through Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel, Edfu, and Kom Ombo. Visit some of the most famous places in Egypt and see temples, pyramids, tombs, and museums that tell the story of this great civilization.
Day 1: Arrival in Cairo & Dinner Cruise
When you arrive at Cairo airport, a representative from “Egypt Tours Portal” will meet you and help with passport control, luggage, and check-in. You will then be taken in a private air-conditioned minibus to a 5-star hotel in Cairo.
In the evening, enjoy a dinner cruise with your tour guide. Relax and watch a belly dance and a traditional Tannoura show, inspired by Egypt’s whirling dervishes. After the show, return to your hotel for the night.
Day 2: Cairo Tour & Flight to Luxor
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin your tour of Cairo with your private guide. Visit the Giza Pyramids, built more than 4,000 years ago. The Great Pyramid of Khufu, built in 2570 BC, was the tallest building in the world for many centuries. The Great Sphinx, carved from one block of limestone, was built by King Chephren and is one of the most famous statues in the world.
You’ll also visit the Valley Temple, where the royal family’s bodies were prepared for burial. Then, explore the Grand Egyptian Museum and see important statues and artifacts, including the Hanging Obelisk, King Ramses II Statue, and the Grand Staircase.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Cairo before visiting the Egyptian Museum, which holds over 5,000 years of history. Later, head to Cairo Airport to fly to Luxor, where you will check into a 5-star hotel for the night.
Day 3: West & East Bank of Luxor
After breakfast, begin your tour of Luxor’s East Bank. Start with the Valley of the Kings, where many pharaohs from the New Kingdom are buried. There are 63 tombs in the valley, including those of Ramses I through Ramses X.
Visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s few female rulers. Built in 1479 BC, it took 15 years to complete. Then, see the Colossi of Memnon, two large statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that were damaged by an earthquake in 27 BC but later rebuilt.
Enjoy lunch on an island and a boat ride on the Nile. Later, visit Karnak Temple, one of the largest religious sites in the world. It was built over 4,000 years ago and was dedicated to several gods, mainly the Theban Triad: Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Return to your hotel in Luxor for the night.
Day 4: Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples
After breakfast and check-out, your guide will take you by private transport to Edfu Temple, built between 237 and 57 BC. It was dedicated to the falcon god Horus and shows many details of life during the Hellenistic period.
Next, visit Kom Ombo Temple, which is shared by two gods: Haroeris (a form of Horus) and Sobek (the crocodile god). This temple also includes information about ancient medicine and the Egyptian calendar. After lunch in Kom Ombo, drive to Aswan and check in at your 5-star hotel.
Day 5: Abu Simbel Temples Tour
In the morning, check out and take breakfast boxes with you. Travel to Abu Simbel to see two large temples built by Pharaoh Ramses II in 1200 BC. The main temple honors the gods Amun, Ptah, and Re-Harakhty, and the smaller temple was for Queen Nefertari. These temples were moved to a safer location in the 1960s with help from UNESCO.
After the visit, return to Aswan for lunch and check in again at your hotel for the night.
Day 6: Aswan Tour & Return to Cairo
After breakfast, visit top sites in Aswan. Start at the High Dam: built between 1960 and 1970, it helped improve Egypt’s economy. Then, visit the Unfinished Obelisk, ordered by Queen Hatshepsut. It cracked before it was completed but shows how ancient Egyptians worked with stone.
Next, go to Philae Temple: it tells the story of the god Osiris. Built in 280 BC, it was later moved to Agilkia Island to save it from rising water during the 1960s.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Then fly back to Cairo and check into your hotel for the last night.
Day 7: Final Departure from Cairo
After breakfast, a representative will take you to Cairo airport and help you with departure. This ends your 7-day Egypt adventure.
