10 Days Djibouti and Somaliland Combined Tour – Explore the hidden places of unrecognized Somaliland on this special tour that brings together the best of both countries.
Start your journey with visits to Lake Abbé and Lake Assal, then head to Hargeisa and continue through the western part of Somaliland.

Day 1: Arrival in Djibouti
We will pick you up from the airport and take your luggage to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore the busy streets of Djibouti City.
Day 2: Drive to Lake Abbé
In the morning, we drive to Lake Abbé, passing through the Grand Bara and Petit Bara deserts. You will spend the night at Lake Abbé Camp, a simple camp made of traditional huts. You will enjoy the sunset and the peaceful surroundings.
Day 3: Lake Abbé & Lake Assal
You will wake up early to watch the sunrise. On a walking tour around Lake Abbé, you may see chimneys, nomads, flamingos, and hot springs. Later, we will drive to Lake Assal, the lowest point in Africa. On the way, enjoy views of Canyon Adalah and the Gulf of Goubet.
Day 4: Tadjoura & Beach Relaxation
We visit Djibouti’s oldest town, Tadjoura, known for its white-washed buildings. After sightseeing, we head to Plage des Sables Blancs, a white sand beach where you can relax and enjoy a drink. We then return to Djibouti City for an overnight stay before heading to Somaliland.
Day 5: Journey to Borama
We start a long drive to Looyada at the border with Somaliland. The journey continues through the semi-desert of western Somaliland until we reach Borama, the third largest city and home of Amoud University. You will spend the night at Rays Hotel or similar.
Day 6: Borama to Hargeisa
In the morning, we explore the market in Borama. On the way to Hargeisa, we stop at Dhagax Khoury, a rock painting site with images of animals and humans. We also pass through the towns of Arabiya and Gebiley, known for farming and Somali culture. When we arrive in Hargeisa, we will take you to your hotel.
Day 7: Hargeisa City Tour
After breakfast, you visit the livestock market, which is very important to the country’s economy. Then visit the Civil War Memorial and Central Market. Later, you are free to explore the busy streets of Hargeisa and get a feel of the city.
Day 8: Laas Geel & Berbera
We travel to Laas Geel, one of the most important rock art sites in Africa. The colorful paintings are believed to be about 10,000 years old. After the visit, we drive to Berbera and take you to your hotel by the beach. You can swim or relax as the sun goes down. Snorkeling, diving, and boat rides are also available.
Day 9: Berbera & Sheikh Mountains
After breakfast, we visit Berbera’s old town, which has buildings from the Ottoman and British periods. Then we drive to the mountain town of Sheikh, enjoying the fresh air and views. In the evening, we head back to Hargeisa through the Sheikh Mountains.
Day 10: Departure
We will take you to the airport for your flight back home, bringing with you lasting memories from your journey through Somaliland and Djibouti.
