It is a smooth drive with views of the landscape, large plantations, and busy towns. You will have a stop for about one hour at the Great Rift Valley. This is a perfect place for photography and some refreshment.
The next stop is at the Narok trading center for lunch. You will arrive at the park in the evening. This is a good time to get a glimpse of what happens in the wilderness at sunset. You will then proceed with a scenic drive to your lodge to refresh, have dinner, and take a nap. This is the first day of your exciting 6-Day Masai Mara & Serengeti Safari.
Day 2: Game drive and Masai village encounter
Wake up to a delicious breakfast at your lodge. After that, you will depart for a 3 to 4 hour game drive in the open savannah grassland. Since no appointment was made with the animals, you may encounter great moments like a hunt or a birth by luck. The Big Five are present here, especially the herds of elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, and rhinos.
You will keep identifying the plants and animals as the hours go on. You can take photos and talk with your ranger guide. At the Mara River, you will watch the hippos and crocodiles in the water. You will also see waterbucks and water birds. After the drive, go back for lunch. In the evening, you will go for a cultural exchange with the Masai people. You will enjoy dancing, a village walk, and a cattle keeping experience. You can even try to see who can jump the highest. At sunset, return to the lodge for dinner and sleep.
Day 3: Masai Mara National Reserve to Serengeti National Park
Today you will have a very early breakfast before the sun comes up. Next, you will check out and start your road trip to Serengeti National Park in northern Tanzania. This journey takes you across the border, making it a key part of the 6-Day Masai Mara & Serengeti Safari.
You will have a stop at the Isebania border to verify your travel documents. After that, you will have another stop to enjoy lunch. You will arrive at the Serengeti National Park just before sunset. Head to your lodge for dinner and stay the night.
Day 4: Full day game drive
At about 6:00 am, you will get the day started with a cup of coffee. After that, you will take your packed lunch and fruits and go into the wild for a full day of game drives and photography. This day presents a wide range of opportunities to see cheetahs, zebras, and warthogs. You will also see impalas, wildebeests, African elephants, and cape buffaloes.
Look out for ostriches and primates like the baboons. The ranger guides will help you identify the different residents of the park as the time passes. You will have a picnic lunch in the middle of the plains so you do not miss any action. End the day with dinner and another overnight stay in the Serengeti.
Day 5: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater & sunset nature walk
Begin your day with a cup of coffee at day break. After that, you will hit the road to the Ngorongoro Crater. You will have a stop at the Olduvai Gorge to see a glimpse of the history of man. The museum there has fossils believed to be from the oldest man on earth. When you reach the park, have lunch and refresh at the lodge.
In the evening, you will spend time exploring the Ngorongoro Crater, which is one of the largest calderas in the world. This is a major highlight of the 6-Day Masai Mara & Serengeti Safari. You can take magical photos of the landscape. When the sun sets, return to the lodge for dinner and a refreshing nap.
Day 6: Departure
Very early in the morning, you will take a three hour game drive. You will visit different animal hideouts with hopes of finding animals that are hard to find, such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas. This session lasts for about 3 hours. Later, you will return to the lodge for breakfast and check out. You will then start your journey to Arusha for your flight home or to your next destination. This marks the end of your safari.
