Experience the lemurs of Andasibe Reserve in five days. This is one of Madagascar’s most famous national parks, known for its unique wildlife and green forests.
You will have a chance to see chameleons, tenrecs, many kinds of orchids, and different species of lemurs.
You will also enjoy a special cycling trip through Ambohimanga King’s Palace, which will show you the beautiful landscapes of Antananarivo.
Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo
When you arrive in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, your guide will meet you at the airport and take you safely to your hotel. You will have the whole day to rest or explore the impressive city.
You will learn about the culture and history as you visit markets and important places. The city shows a mix of traditional Malagasy and colonial styles.
Day 2: Travel to Andasibe & Night Walk
After a short drive around Antananarivo, you will travel to Andasibe through green and lush areas. You will see humid forests, lakes, rice fields, waterfalls, and small forest stations.
Along the way, you will pass through villages of the Merina people on the mountain slopes.
When you arrive, you will check in to your hotel. In the evening, you will go on a night walk to see lemurs and other animals that are active after dark.
Day 3: Andasibe Reserve & V.O.I.I.M.A Community Reserve
Start your day with a good breakfast, then visit Andasibe Reserve. Your guide will help you find the indri, the largest lemur on the island.
You will also see many orchids, trees, and animals like chameleons, tenrecs, and many birds.
In the afternoon, visit the V.O.I.I.M.A community reserve where you will see more wildlife, including brown lemurs, indri, chameleons, geckos, and birds.
Day 4: Return to Antananarivo & Cycling at Ambohimanga King’s Palace
Travel back to Antananarivo and then enjoy a cycling tour at Ambohimanga King’s Palace. This place is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of the Merina Kingdom.
It has great cultural and spiritual meaning even today. As you cycle through the area, you will see its history and beautiful buildings.
The site connects you with Madagascar’s cultural roots that have shaped the country for many years.
Day 5: Departure & Farewell
After breakfast, say goodbye to the green landscapes and exciting wildlife. You will start your journey back to Antananarivo.
You will leave with lasting memories of Madagascar’s natural beauty and the special experience of seeing lemurs and other animals during your time in Andasibe Reserve.
