8 Days Somaliland Eastern Tour – Embark on a journey to explore the Sool and Sanaag regions in the east, near the Somalia border. Travel through Somaliland’s remote eastern area and discover the quiet beauty of the Daallo mountain region.

Day 1: Arrival & Hargeisa City Walk

Get picked up and transferred to your hotel.

Depending on the time of your arrival, you will have the opportunity to explore Hargeisa.

Once you have rested, you can go for a short walk in the center of Hargeisa to get a feel for the local life and the town.

Day 2: Rock Art & Beach Time in Berbera

Begin your day in Hargeisa with a visit to the Civil War Monument and Central Market. Then, you will visit Laas Geel, the most important rock art site in Africa. The bright colors and well-kept paintings are thought to be around 10,000 years old. After this, continue to Berbera and check in at your hotel. Here, you can relax on the beach or take a swim in the sea as the sun goes down. The beach hotel offers snorkeling gear, diving gear, and boat rides.

Day 3: Old Berbera & Drive to Burao via Sheikh

After breakfast, you will visit the old town of Berbera, especially the part with buildings from the Ottoman and British times. After the visit, you will leave Berbera and drive to the small town of Sheikh, located in the mountains. Driving through the Sheikh Mountains is a nice experience, with great views and warm weather. Later in the day, you will continue east to Burao, the second largest city in Somaliland.

Day 4: Burao to Erigavo

In Burao, you will walk around and explore the town. From there, you will take a long drive to Erigavo, the capital of the Sanaag region. You will spend the night in Erigavo.

Day 5: Explore the Daallo Mountains

The Daallo Mountains rise over 2,400 meters above sea level. This area has thick forests and quiet mountain views. You will enjoy the sights from the top of the mountains. You will spend another night in Erigavo.
