On this 10-day Morocco tour from Casablanca, you will visit many interesting places. The journey starts in Casablanca, then continues to Rabat, the capital of Morocco.
You will explore the blue city of Chefchaouen, the Roman ruins at Volubilis, and Meknes, the capital of the Ismaili dynasty. You will also visit Fes, a cultural city, and Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco.
From there, you travel south through the cedar forest, Midelt, and the Ziz Valley, passing Rissani market and Erfoud before reaching the Sahara Desert in Merzouga.
There, you will ride camels, sleep in a luxury tent, and enjoy the sunset and sunrise in the desert.
Afterward, you will walk in the Todra and Dades Gorges, visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, cross the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka Pass, and explore Marrakech with a local guide before returning to Casablanca.
Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca
We begin the tour by picking you up from the airport or your hotel in Casablanca, the largest city and economic center of Morocco. We will visit the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco.
The city lies on the Atlantic Ocean and offers nice sea views. After some free time for lunch, we explore the city and visit the Corniche area before spending the night at a hotel.
Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen
After breakfast, we drive along the coast to Rabat, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and its capital. You will visit the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of Oudayas.
After free time for lunch, we drive north through Ouazzane to Chefchaouen, a town in the Rif Mountains known for its blue-painted buildings. You will spend the night at a hotel.
Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After breakfast, you will explore the quiet streets of Chefchaouen. Then we drive to the Roman ruins at Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will see old mosaics, arches, and columns.
After the visit, we drive 30 km to Meknes, an imperial city and former capital of the Ismaili dynasty. There, you will visit Bab Al Mansour, Sahrij Souani Basin, the Royal Stables, the Granary, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Later, we drive to Fes for an overnight stay at a riad.
Day 4: Exploring Fes
After breakfast, a local guide will take you on a tour of Fes, one of Morocco’s cultural and religious centers. We begin at the Royal Palace gate, then walk through the old Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You will visit Bab Boujloud (the Blue Gate), Medersa Bouanania, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the tanneries. Later, we visit the University of Al Quaraouiyine, the oldest university in the world, and the Jewish Quarter (Mellah). In the afternoon, we drive to an old fortress for a panoramic view of the city. Then you return to your riad.
Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, we leave Fes and head south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. We stop at Ifrane, known for its cold weather and alpine-style houses. It is often called the Switzerland of Morocco.
We then visit the cedar forest near Azrou, where you can see Barbary macaques. After that, we continue to Midelt for lunch. In the afternoon, we drive through the Ziz Valley, enjoying stops for photos.
Later, we arrive in the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. You will ride camels through the sand dunes and stop to watch the sunset. Then we continue to your desert camp.
The tents mix traditional Berber style with hotel comfort. You can enjoy Berber music and drums around a campfire under the stars and spend the night at the camp.
Day 6: Exploring Merzouga Region
Wake up early to watch the sunrise in the desert. After breakfast, ride a 4×4 or camel (or ATV at extra cost) across the dunes to explore the Merzouga region. This area is full of interesting places like sand dunes, a seasonal lake, old mines, fossil sites, and desert oases.
We drive off-road to visit an old kohl mine and then visit nomads in their tents to learn about their way of life while drinking tea. After that, we go to Khamlia village to enjoy music and dance from people whose families came from Mali, Sudan, and Niger. You will have lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we walk in a modern oasis. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel.
Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
After breakfast, we leave the desert and drive to Rissani, a traditional town known for its local market held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. After a short walk in the market, we continue to Erfoud to visit a fossil workshop.
Then we drive through palm groves and small villages like Touroug to reach the Todra Gorges, a deep canyon carved by the river. You can walk through the gorge and enjoy the views.
After lunch at a restaurant, we continue to Dades Valley. On the way, we stop at the rock formations known as “monkey fingers” and a viewpoint overlooking the valley. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 8: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, we drive to Rose Valley, famous for the rose festival held every May. Then we continue through Skoura’s palm groves to visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many movies and TV shows, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones, were filmed here. You will also visit film studios in Ouarzazate.
Later, we drive through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and the High Atlas Mountains, with stops for lunch and photos along the way. You will spend the night at a riad in Marrakech.
Day 9: Exploring Marrakech
After breakfast, a local guide will take you around Marrakech. We start with visits to the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and Ben Youssef Quranic School. Then we walk through the largest market in Morocco. Lunch will be near Jemaa El Fna square.
In the afternoon, we visit the Koutoubia Mosque and the Majorelle Gardens. After the tour, we return to your accommodation. You can walk around Jemaa El Fna on your own in the evening.
Day 10: Marrakech – Casablanca Airport
On the last day, we take a short drive around Marrakech before heading north to Casablanca. We stop for views and rest along the way. Then we drop you off at the airport. End of tour.
