Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Helicopter transfer to Kihihi airstrip from Entebbe
After arriving at Entebbe airport, you will take a scenic domestic flight to southwestern Uganda. This flight allows you to see the beauty of the landscape from above. Your tour driver will meet you at Kihihi airstrip. From there, he will drive you to your lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will check in and have a quiet evening to prepare for the big adventure the next day.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Drive to the park gate for a briefing about gorilla trekking rules. This is a very important part of your 6-Day Uganda Gorillas & Serengeti Safari. Then, with a ranger guide, enter the famous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to track the mountain gorillas. The trek may take between 2 and 7 hours depending on where the animals are.
You will spend one hour with one of the habituated gorilla families. During this time, you will learn about their behavior, take photos, and enjoy this special moment. After the trek, your driver will take you back to the lodge for lunch and some rest. Later, visit the Batwa community for a cultural experience with music, dances, stories, and local traditions.
Day 3: Fly to Seronera airstrip in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
After breakfast and a relaxed morning, your driver will take you back to Kihihi airstrip for your flight to Serengeti National Park. This flight is the bridge between the two countries. Your safari guide will meet you at Seronera airstrip in Tanzania. On arrival, you will get into the safari vehicle and drive to your lodge. You may see some wildlife along the way. After checking in, spend the rest of the day relaxing at the lodge.
Day 4 to 5: Explore the home of the wildebeest migration in Serengeti
Serengeti National Park is famous for the annual wildebeest migration. Millions of animals move north following the rains to find fresh grass. They are followed closely by predators like lions and leopards. This creates a dramatic scene of nature in action.
Over these two days of your 6-Day Uganda Gorillas & Serengeti Safari, you will explore different parts of the park. You will have the best chance to see the migration and many other animals.
